The Word on Somerset is published by Word Media Limited - a small privately-owned business based in Somerset and independent from any larger organisation.
The magazine was launched in February 2007, having identified a gap in the market for a comprehensive Cultural Arts & Events Guide for Somerset. A magazine that is interesting, informative and inspiring and one with a stylish, contemporary design, bold photography and high production values.
The Word is dedicated to all that is good and great about Somerset. And there is so much that is good and great about this county...

Behind the production of The Word is a dedicated team of Somerset-based publishing professionals. Originally from London, relocating to Somerset in 2003, the team is led by Editorial Director, Fabienne Fossez, a freelance photo-journalist, and Art Director, Elizabeth Jackson, a senior graphic designer – who between them have over 20 years experience on national periodicals and supplements including The Independent, The Sunday Times, ELLE, Period Living, Traveller and Time Out.
